| Bought this a few days ago, it was very easy to set up and it was a dream to use. It doesn't do sideways very well but it'll glide forward and back with very little effort. Some grass does get blown out but most of it ends up nicely compacted in the easy to remove grass basket. I needed to empty the basket four times over a 10m2 area. It has a strong steel blade that cut with efficiency - my garden is no show piece and the cut was generally tidy enough for me. I had a Flymo before this - it lasted fifteen years before the motor blew - I'm expecting the same level of quality and reliability from this one. This mower is currently 60 quid at Argos. |

My OLD FLYMO LASTED OVER 12 YRS OF HARD WORK..THIS COMPACT 350 LASTED 18 MTHS OF VERY LIGHT WORK...ALWAYS VERY NOISY & LEFT GRASS CUTTINGS ABOUT.
THE SHAFT FROM THE MOTOR TO THE PULLY SHEARED OFF ..FLYMO SHOWED NO INTEREST !!
GUESS I`LL TRY ANOTHER MAKE THIS TIME. |
Cheap but not so cheerful

After 3 seasons my Flymo has seized up and reading another review site this seems fairly common with this model. Most others seem to have lasted 13 to 24 months.
Back to Qualcast for me then as they are confident enough in their products to give a 2 year labour and 5 year parts guarantee. |

| Oh dear. This has to be the second-worst electrical gardening item after a dramatically useless Red Devil rechargeable strimmer. The Flymo seemed to be quite well constructed and with some neat design touches, but lasted precisely one mowing season before the front guide rollers gave way. I noted they were integrated within the bodyshell which was cracked. A few mows later and they wriggled completely free. During the next mowing season, the "engine" started to smoke. Flymo didn't want to know, and it's been replaced by a Rotak 43. Farewell forever, Flymo! The Bosch gives a much better finish, but there are certain elements that I do miss from the Flymo - the easier-to-view and empty grassbox, and the cable fitment and security. Somehow, however, mowing seems to take half the time now... |

This product is the WORST ever. We only have a very small lawn (front & back), so the product has had light usage. Purchased from B&Q some 18 months it is now only worthy of the rubbish tip.
I would urge anyone looking for lawn mower of any description, to seek one made buy a different manufacturer.
I certainly will never buy anything that bears the name 'Flymo" |
