Great lawn mower   Review Date: May 2, 2008 Reviewer: pollypots, UK I have purchased a number of lawn mowers over the past few years and none of them have been quite able to manage my jungle of a garden. I bought the multimo and it was a complete godsend - definitely worth the money. I cut my entire garden within 25 mins (a task which would have usually taken a good 1hr 30mins). It is easy to assemble and manouver and the mulch option means you don't have to empty the collector box every 5 mins while feeding your garden in the process. It cut my relatively long grass extremely easily. The finish is good, not the best but that is more due to my garden which is full of lumps and bumps. It also features useful levers to fold down the arms for easy storage. I would highly recommend this mover to anyone who has a large garden that has a tendency to grow longer. It's fitted with a small hairdryer motor that makes a lot of noise signifying nothing and, over the years has progressed to being little more than something I push around the garden flattening the grass and edging me closer to a heart attack every time. I finally decided that my £30 had been well spent and I needed a new mower. I'm not the most attentive of gardeners so the grass is often longer than ideal and I can't always guarantee being able to mow when perfectly dry so I needed to make sure the new machine could cope well with long, wet grass and wouldn't precipitate my early demise. The choice came down to the Bosch Rotak 40 or this, the Multimo 360XC. In the end I plumped for the 360XC as some reviews claimed the Rotak was 'fiddly' to change heights and empty the grassbox. With my new mower sitting assembled in the kitchen I then waited three days for it to stop raining. In the end I lost patience and thought I'd chance during a brief spell of sunlight with the grass still very damp. What a revelation! With trepidation I approached the first patch of 8" long dampness and the 360XC just flew through it like a hot knife. An hour later and the whole lawn was done - something that would have taken 2 hours+ (not including hospital time) with the old mower. I've since been able to reduce the cutting height and the results are very pleasing. The only possible complaint is that when the box is very full (and it holds an enormous amount of grass) removing it to empty usually results in a pile of dropped clippings. The answer is simply to not let it get that full! Thoroughly recommended, a great mower for longer grass, easy to use and store and capable of making mowing the lawn a less tiring task. All the reveiws looked positive, so bought one. Hubby has been mowing at any sign of sunny weather..... already used it about 6-8 times in the last couple of weeks - yes he is a gardener! Whitworth, UK Recently I purchased a Mountfield mower after reading the reviews, what a pile of junk it turned out to be. First off, when I pulled the go lever it didn't go due to a badly adjusted micro-switch, secondly I kept getting a burning smell on occasions and thirdly, they didn't even stick their name sticker on straight, that shows how good quality control is. Just dumped the Mountfield and bought a new Flymo which is just brilliant. No faults up to now, much easier to adjust the cutting height than the Mountfield, and the handle also folds down which the Mountfield doesn't. This machine also does re-mulching as standard. In use the mower is really easy to push, it's powerful and collects the grass really well. All in all a great mower - a big improvement on my previous Mountfield motor mower.
